About Us

We are the Coquitlam Prostate Cancer Support Group providing informed, experienced support from survivors. The Prostate Cancer Support Group is a national organization with affiliated groups across the country that supports the cause of prostate cancer awareness.

As a volunteer based non-profit support group founded in 1998 for those diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families, we provide information, counseling and camaraderie covering the journey through diagnosis, decision-making treatment and all the afterwards follow ups encountered.

Through contact at the individual level to attendance and participation in group meetings, we can assist you by providing useful contacts, reference matterisls, group discussions and presentations by health professionals. We make available knowledge about prostate cancer including up-to-date treatments available and the other lifestyle activities that enhance recovery and quality of life.

Part of our mission is to help raise awareness of prostate cancer and the probless that can be caused by being diagnosed with this desease. We promote measures that men should be taking to ensure they are not caught by a surprise diagnosis and/ troubles that could arise because of time delays.

We provide information and share our personal experiences with men and their partners who are facing the challenge of selecting their choice of treatment.
